Executive Employment in the Victorian Public Sector

The Government Sector Executive Remuneration Panel (GSERP) is responsible for reporting on the implementation of Government policy for the purposes of ensuring there is a rigorous approach to monitoring and reporting on executive remuneration in the public sector. The Panel's operations cover around 220 organisations.

The key themes of Government policy are Board accountability, clear processes and full disclosure. The policy provides Government with a tool to ensure executive remuneration is not excessive, and where increases are appropriate they are broadly in line with wage movements in the general community, and in particular with public sector levels. The purpose of the policy is to ensure accountability to Government by disclosure of information on executive remuneration policy and practices through annual remuneration committee reports to the Panel.
